Joyce Meyer: Characteristics of Humility

[Matthew 11:28-29]

Humility: Freedom from pride and arrogance; a modest estimation of your own worth.
Anything you can do is a gift from God; therefore, the more talented you are the more humble you should be.
You should be amazed by how God created you.
Pride: An inordinate measure of self-esteem. An unreasonable conceit of ones own superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, accomplishment, rank or elevation in office, which manifests itself in lofty airs, distancing ourselves from others and often being contemptuous of others. it causes insolent and rude treatment of others while it causes an elevation and lifting up of ourselves.
Two biggest problems of pride:
1) We think we don't need God
2) We think we can mistreat other people
How we treat people is very personal to God.
Humility always comes before honor and promotion.
When God puts you He keeps you.
Pride goes before destruction.
Only few people can handle promotions they get.
If you want to be in ministry you don't have to be in platform.
Praise the Lord anywhere.
Whatever it is you want from God you need to be humble.
And after you get anything from God you have to be more humble and be amazed that Gos is using you.

When you are wrong admit that you are wrong.
Lead people with humility. Be careful with bragging and boasting.
Judgment, complaining comes from pride.
What others do is none of your business unless they ask for your opinion.

It's impossible to be a humble man without having humble mind.
When God promotes you, you should be thankful by getting what you do not deserve.

God will give you more if you know how to handle what you have.
I'm nothing in myself but everything in God

Humble have no problem of asking for help from God or from people.
Let people do things their way.

What is impossible with man it is possible with God.
Trust God, don't plan back-ups in case God won't answer.

If God is on my side whom shall I fear?

Joyce Meyer: Imitate God's Mercy and Peace

Receive mercy.
If God's giving it I'm taking it.

[Mathew 12:1~]

When people do something wrong don't make them pay. Give it to God.
Don't judge people. " I can see how you acting, but I don't see what made you to act that way."
God looks at the heart.
You are not going to stand before God for others. We are too involved with others' business.
Don't have opinion when you don't have responsibility.
It's different when you judge what they do and what they are at heart.
God doesn't look at our check marks but our hearts.

God chose messed up people because they can have mercy on other messed up people.
Mercy is greater than judgment.
We should not be concerned of other people judgment about us.

[1Peter 3:10~11]

You can't give away what you don't have.
The more you complain the more upset you become.
Watch your mouth if you want to live in peace.
If you are not enjoying the peace in your life you know you should be enjoying you are not going to have it unless you make some changes.
God accepts us unconditionally. Make peace with yourself.
If you really know who you are it doesn't matter what others think about you. God can use people to change you.
Love is not a feeling it's a decision we make how we are going to treat people.


P.S. Father, today is a beautiful day. I thank you for your mercy and grace, for your unconditional love. Lord, I pray that I will not judge other people, that I will trust you more in all circumstances. I pray for the peace in my heart as I'm in a waiting period that you God has planned, I believe. Just give me understanding of your word and your being. Let me know what you truly want for my life whether it is a graduate school or job or anything else. I submit to you all my desires and worries. Father, as I will be filling an application form to Yonsei Grad. School I pray that your hand will be on it and give me knowledge and skills to write a meaningful information about myself. Lord, I know that you bless those who are obedient until the end. I trust I and I love you.

How can we know God? - Through His Word.
Have your own walk with God.
Have your own personal testimonies.
Know personally that He's faithful.
We need to know what to expect from Him.

My goal is to represent God on this earth.
When you are giving with a good attitude you are more like God than any other time in your life.

You can love people by what you say or choose what to say what you could say.

God doesn't bother if we have arrived but He expects us to grow.
You never fail if you don't stop trying.
The character develops in the dark.
Love will cost you something. It cost Jesus His life.

What am I doing to help other people?
When we are loving one another God is there.
Go into the world and be the Bible to somebody.
God knew me and approved of me when even was not in the womb.
I am imperfect will worship a perfect One.
If we really believe that God loves us we will pour it out on other people.

Joyce Meyer: Don't Panic. It's just a test!

God does tests us but He never tempts us to sin.
You have no idea what your strength is and what you believe in until you're tested.
Israelites in the desert always wanted to go back to Egypt as soon as they faced the trials. Because they did not know that God was faithful.
I'm not going to panic because this is just a test. It will pass. If I don't pass it I will have to retake it. therefore, come quickly to an agreement with God rather than going around.

[James 1:12-14]
12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. 13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.

We should be more aware of our behavior and reactions to what's happening than to what's actually happening. Those are just trials that are going to pass sooner or later.

Faithful people get promoted.
When we are tested it shows what's really inside us.

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

[Ephesians 3:20]
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

Tests are good because they show the weak areas in us.
God has got a great plan for me. Don't I dare to give up!
The next time you're tested just say, "This is good for me".
"Whatever the purpose of the test is I'm in Your hands".
"Let me grow stronger in You, be the woman You want me to be".

[Deuteronomy 8:2-3]
2 Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

If you don't keep commandments in wilderness you won't keep them up in the mountains.
Whatever it is that you want until you can be really happy without it you probably won't get it.
Anybody can be happy anywhere if you make a decision to be happy.
The last things you want to give up in trials is your joy.
Worry is not trust.
There're lots of things you don't probably understand now but God knows!

[Deuteronomy 8:7-8]
7 For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; 8 a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey;

You're never going to be free from anything until you stop making excuses.
God doesn't make a way; He's the way!
Trust God when you just don't understand.
Trust doesn't always bring an answer. Stop figuring it out.

8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death.
